the monster of marine plastic pollution
Commissioned by the Govt. of Maharashtra to create awareness about marine plastic pollution, we hit upon the insight of how plastic that makes its way to the sea never really goes away but keeps coming back, again and again. Visual artist SAGE brought this thought to life with his gigantic installation and the project film drove the point home and help spread the message far and wide.
'it never goes away' by sage
When discarded plastics finally make their way into the sea, we tend to take comfort in the fact that we have seen the last of them. But they always come back. Sometimes as washed up garbage on a beach, and sometimes as microplastics right within our food chain. This installation is an attempt to draw attention towards this monster we have created. A monster that can only be defeated with awareness, collaboration and positive action.
